    Hello, buckeye:

    You'll do fine.

Keep the razor pressure low, the angle around 20 degrees (generally), and enjoy the ritual.

Piece o' cake, my good man. Good luck.

    Regards,
    Obie

Read my sig below and follow the old barber's advice.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You'll do great... be careful, but be confident. Best of luck to you!

These beasts are a bit scary, but they sense fear. Just like Del1r1um said, confidence is key. Now how you rassle them to submission is dif'rent than the monstrous croc; these blades respect a soft, but controlled hand and a focused mind. Just try not to check the cloaca, this will cause them to bite. You will do fine I was quite scared meself the first time.

While I'm shaving, I'm constantly reminding myself of Jimmy's old barber's advice. I believe it has saved me from needing stitches on more than a few occasions.

In this way, they're a lot like women!

What has gotten me through my first 5 or so shaves is to remember that by taking it slow, with the lightest of pressure, and a low angle, it's actually not that easy to do serious damage to yourself. So relax and enjoy the ride!

    Cheers

Welcome to the club...it's not as tough as the movies would have you believe. My first time, my hands here absolutely shaking since I was almost certain that I would accidentally lop off my head and have it roll down the hallway. It wasn't the bad. It wasn't until the second week that I started getting over confident and nicking myself...

Holliforpirating puts a serious edge on a blade
