What a horrible story. My deepest sympathies.
thanks for the suggestion, but I'm looking at something a bit higher end.
I'm sorry to hear about this, best wishes.
All bad things happen for a reason and then are balanced out by great things. some day you'll look back on it and all will be well. :)
Sucks, but -- I don't know how bad the strop is, but maybe cut it and glue it to a block, it can be very useful as a pasted strop. Save the hardware! You might want to make your own sometime, or someone will buy it from you.
I don't know what your experience level is -- inspect that razor very carefully. Use a magnifying glass. Try to flex the blade a bit, make sure a little crack isn't hiding out there somewhere.
I'm pretty sure I will cut the strop and make it into a paddle strop. At least that way it won't end up in the garbage.
Anyone willing to sell me a nice strop :P come on guys!
If you are looking for a good hanging latigo strop I would highly recommend SRD's latigo. I have one in red, and am very pleased with it. Definitely has some heavy draw.
+1 on the above I have one and the good news is you can replace the leather part only. i cut up my first one and ordered the replacement leather from Fendrihan for $26.
Hope your TI is ok and didn't take much damage.
The good news is strops can be replaced...body parts can't..
Depending on where it was cut, you could make it into a NICE travel strop. A D-ring on one end and the original hardware on the other. I made a lovely travel strop with about 13" of stropping area that I absolutely love. Got a shorter fabric side as well. It's perfect for travel and does a fabulous job. I post the picture here with a standard SRP Premium I strop for comparison.
NOW you can ALSO start shopping for yet another NEW strop! Wins all the way around!
Sorry to hear that! It can happen to the best of us, all it takes is something as little as a wet hand or a minor distraction. As for the strop, you mentioned latigo, I have one and yes it does create more draw, which I like. Very pleased with it. Also, it's hard to nick. Something about the leather.
Well looks like the razor is done...Can't believe all that money is going down the drain. I tried to hone it but it's obviously messed up enough that it won't lay perfectly flat and the very end of the blade is not making good contact
