Thanked: 398Ohhhhh Noooooo!!!
Well guys! I f**** big time today!
After I finished my lunch I thought I would try a few passes on my strop with my newly acquired TI Le Canadien!
I don't know why but for some reason my brain went on sleep mode and I ended up cutting the strop almost in half and the razor when flying and fell on my ceramic tiles! Needless to say that my nice Ambrose strop is done and now there's a nice ding at the end of my razor. It's a bent a bit, but I don't think it will greatly affect how it shaves.
I was already having a bad day and then this.... WOW! Guess I need to shop for a new strop...grrrrrr

Thanked: 398At least on the upside I guess I'm sort of lucky that the razor did not land on my feet. I really hope it hasn't affected the shaving capabilities of the razor...As far as the strop, well that will need to be replaced. Now I just need to figure out what to get and where...

That. Just. Sucks.
You, Sir, have my utmost and unwavering sympathy. That is a tragedy that no man should ever have to experience. Ouch.
Hope the day goes better for you. Your story certainly cements my reason for shaving in the evening. I am a brain dead drone first thing in the morning.
Give your Ambrose a proper service!
Best of wishes.

Thanked: 240Wow that sucks! On the good side at least it's only a ding I've heard many stories and seen pictures of the bad things that can happen when razors hit title floors.

Sorry to hear that, there are lots of good deals to be found on strops though... check out the SRD strops or even an illinois and you'll find something.
I hope this doesn't come across as insensitive, but could we see some pics of the damage?
