That's what I thought too until I started calculating how much I've spent on wet shaving supplies.....Financially I'd rather be dependent on the big corps.

I gave the cartriges to my wife and daughter as they still think I'm insane. The handle part got deep 6'd into the trashcan with much glee :p
I don't remember any kind of organized celebration when I finally kicked cartridges. I think the knowledge that I was no longer a slave to Gillette Corp was enough for me.
My first BBS shaves - that's another story. Great shave, a glass of fine scotch and a good cigar would have been in order back then :tu
I've still got my Mach3s; will pack them when I fly somewhere. Cheaper to do that than start a new DE acquisition disease (DEAD!?).
But your milestone sounds like a very important time for you to grow your rotation. :)
I used my Mach3 the other day. Was going to work with fibreglass & realised my stubble was going to give me an inefficient seal against my respirator. A couple of quick dry strokes in the right areas got me smooth enough to work safe without having to do a 'proper' shave. I'd keep it, ya never know.
I just shoved my on the top shelf and towards the back in my wardrobe. I'm gonna have to keep them as it seems such a waste of the blades I still have for them. I've already got my mates using either DE's or CT's, so I got nobody to give 'em to anyway.
I'll need them once in a blue moon if at all. One I won't get rid of as it was my first 'Official' razor.
