Most of the razors in my rotation are spikes, and most of them don't bite, but I have a 6/8 Wosty IXL from the mid-1800s that I am more likely than not to slice myself with the point. The blade is about 1/4 inch shorter than my others--perhaps was reground to eliminate a chip in the toe at some point. Maybe that accounts for it. Paradoxically, it's probably my best shaver and one that I really look forward to shaving with.
