Either works. Or one of those little wooden ice-cream scoops.
Russell,
Not a dumb question at all. Another option and
one that I use is too apply the cream to your face.
I rub it over the areas to be shaved and then work
up the lather with my brush. Not sure if anyone else
uses this method, but it has worked for me.
Terry
I've been using abutter knife to get the tiny dollop out of the jar, but it just occurred to me that if I'm careful I could actually use my razor. I think I'd prefer another tool though, maybe a baby spoon.
I wipe that bit of cream straight onto the brush and start lathering in my bowl.

Hmmm, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Do they really make them that small??Quote:

I don't use cream that often but when I do I just very gently touch the brush into the tub and get just the right amount.
A melon baller might work. Or a wooden teaspoon, which you could easily make yourself.Quote:

I've always used a small butter knife. I felt dippng into the tub wasted too much cream.

How about one of those decorative silver baby spoons....just the right size
and nice looking as well...
Is there an echo in here? :rolleyes:Quote:

yes..........yes....
Sorry Xman....I've been up to long staring at something on my PC at work,
and bouncing back and forth here to the forum....
But, I would use a "decorative, silver" baby spoon....maybe gold plate!
Hey, I just got another post in....moving on up
Thanks!
Darn it! You almost caught up to me!!!
Anyways, I just hold my cream jar upside down (or close to) and dip the brush in it. All my creams are thick enough that they can be held upside down, and this way I don't get pools of water in my cream.
I guess I was being a little assumptive. Those silver spoons are the ones we've got in our kitchen cutlery drawer ( I mean the moving box which contains our kitchen dutlery drawer *sigh*) so those were the ones I was thinking of putting to use.Quote:

I just dip my finger in take a small dollop place onto brush, lather on face. Works for me, no fuss no muss.:D
Thanks guys. I've been dipping in with finger, wiping it on the brush, and then lathering on my face for the last couple days and have found it to be much better than dipping the wet brush in. I have a feeling the cream will last much longer this way too.
The Acqua di Parma cream I have is too hard for this, though, so I will have to continue treating it like soap.
I'd wager that X's butter knife is shave ready :)Quote:
