    Default Dumb shaving cream question

Do you take the cream out with your finger and wipe on the wet brush, or dip the wet brush in the cream to get a bit on the tips before going onto face/ into mug to start the lather-making process?

Either works. Or one of those little wooden ice-cream scoops.

    Russell,

Not a dumb question at all. Another option and
one that I use is too apply the cream to your face.
I rub it over the areas to be shaved and then work
up the lather with my brush. Not sure if anyone else
uses this method, but it has worked for me.

I've been using abutter knife to get the tiny dollop out of the jar, but it just occurred to me that if I'm careful I could actually use my razor. I think I'd prefer another tool though, maybe a baby spoon.

I wipe that bit of cream straight onto the brush and start lathering in my bowl.

Hmmm, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Do they really make them that small??

I don't use cream that often but when I do I just very gently touch the brush into the tub and get just the right amount.

A melon baller might work. Or a wooden teaspoon, which you could easily make yourself.

I just started dipping my pinkie finger in and getting out what I was told should be the size of an almond - I put this onto the brush and lather in a ceramic bowl. I haven't found any reason to try anything else.

I've always used a small butter knife. I felt dippng into the tub wasted too much cream.
