Default Shout-Out to SRP Friends and Mentors

I was shaving this morning, using a razor I hadn't used in months, and was enjoying it so much. It's about a 75 year old Torrey, had been re-scaled, and I've honed it using Glenn's method. I had such a pleasant shave and realized it has been a very long time since I posted here at SRP.

So this is just a shout-out to those who have encouraged, advised and instructed me in all the necessary arts of this wonderful practice.

I have a rather large collection of about 50 razors, all of which I use! Most I have honed myself, many I have done moderate restoration on, several were pro-honed and are my "gold standard" razors. I have assembled a modest set of tools that make it fun to do maintenance or moderate restoration. I have a nice set of stones for honing, but let's face it: when you have 50 nicely honed razors, it takes a while to have to hone again!

I also have a shaving routine that I enjoy and that works well for me.

My biggest problem? Starting out, I had such a spastic technique that I gave myself a few serious cuts and sometimes those spots "catch" and I get a new cut. I'm learning to work around those spots, but sometimes I'm having so much fun I forget!

Many thanks to you all who advised, encouraged, cheered, sold me good stuff, and schooled me in this manly art which gives every day a pleasant start.

    Whoa...that last part...rhymed…
