Iwasaki Kamisori Shave
Here's a video of a shave with an Iwasaki Kamisori. I get a lot of questions about the Kamisori when I'm showing my razors to new wet shavers, so I made this video to show it in use. Enjoy.

AWESOME video....
well done. It was great for me to see someone else using the same hand to shave with a Kamisori. Switching hands for me has not been possible. I have had to flip it over to do a complete shave with it but after watching you I can see some great techniques for geting it done using what we call the proper side of the blade. I had to adjust the angle of the blade and learn the other side and was frustrated that I could not do it as you have.

There's only two things that keep me from shaving like that. My right hand (Shaky Pete) and my left hand (Coolhand Luke) as in "what we have here, is a failure to communicate". Seriously though, nice video, great technique. Thanks for the post. Regards, Howard

I've always been a one handed shaver, eventually I'd like to be ambidextrous in shaving, but that's a tall order. Thanks, glad I could help. That's what I love the most about SRP, we are all in it to help each other out.
Thanks Glen, that means a lot coming from someone with your experience. The music, let me say that this was my first ever youtube video and I didn't want to have any copyright issues...therefore, I went with what was available. I must admit I was a Music Education major in college playing jazz trumpet and I kind of dig it
Thanks for the kind words, I think everyone should try a Kamisori at least once. They are so much fun!

Glen,
How long have you been using a Kamisori? It seems like you are a professional.
Cheers

Thank you for the kind words. I had my first Kamisori shave in March of 2011. I remember my first shave with her very well as I was terrified to try her out. The point on Kamisoris MUST be respected and light pressure is an understatement (failing to respect either of these 2 axioms will result in bloodshed). She is one of my favorite razors and I no longer fear her...just respect her
