During the shave i rinse under hot running water, then when done a final hot rinse and a wipe on a hand towel to remove the bulk of the water and allow to air dry and cool with the blade open. obviously small children do not have access to that bathroom and the dog is afraid he will get a bath if he goes in there.
but if you are concerned about the holes in your new custom razor, send it to me and i will loan your a beautiful kreigar razor for your use whilst i test your razor for a couple of decades.... just to make sure it is ok.
I just wipe the razor on my free hand between passes, then when I'm changing hands i dip it in the sink and wipe on a towel, Then when I'm done I rinse and wipe with tissue before stropping.

Rinse, for the O.P. how about a pic of the custom with holes in it:)
If you don't mind Jimbo, I do believe it is this creation that caused this poll:)

NEAT,I believe a little hairdryer action would work just fine:)
During my shave, I wipe off lather and stubble with a paper towel. After the shave, I rinse in water then dry it off, followed by 20 rounds on leather. I still leave my razor out to dry overnight, and put it away next day. No problems yet.
I voted "other" because I use both. During the shave, I wipe on a moistened washcloth folded over the edge of the basin. When I'm done, I rinse the blade in hot water (never going above the heel), carefully dry with a hand towel, lay a dry section of the towel on my open palm, and stop about 15 laps on towel. Then I let her air dry until I get home for lunch, when I strop 15 webbing/30 leather and put her away with a little mineral oil. Haven't ever had any rust spots appear.
I didn't vote but I do both. I rinse throughout the shave and then strop on some cloth when I'm done.
