    Default Chin hair catching blade.

I have a goatee and the chin hair next to it is super thick. To the point that when I try to go atg or even xtg it'll catch the blade on my short strokes. Anyone else run into this issue?

That's a common rookie issue, usually attributed to technique or a less-than-sharp razor. The chin can be a problematic spot due to the contours and the fact that chin whiskers are typically the thickest for every man. As long as your blade is keen (does it need to be honed?) I'd say keep practicing and you'll get it down eventually.

It's a straight that does a good job everywhere else. I'm going to be trying a de tomorrow so if it's not a problem I'll know it's my straight. I believe my straight is sharp enough now but I'm also bringing in another razor to be honed tomorrow so I'll see there.
