I have been shaving with a straight for about 6 months now and had to pick up a shavette due to time constraints of honing and stropping ( wife is in school in texas for a few months making me Mr. mom) anyway, so I get the shavette load a brand new blade in it last night to try it out and had the best shave ever! I have 2 straights, 1 is the plain cheap Dovo with the black resin handle and the other is the dovo diamant which came honed. I thought I had been doing a pretty decent job at honing since it passed the hh test after honing, but I get all lathered up it seems like my beard is kryptonite to the razors.
Is it wierd that I get a way better shave with a shavette than a regular straight? Everything I have read says that a straight should cut better and smoother than a shavette, but I couldn't believe the difference.
