Wow, I can't believe I did that.
I just shaved my legs...
left leg was with my disposable razor and right was with my hubby's new straight razor (after my hubby spent 15 mins talking me into it).
I got two small nicks on my knee, but overall...WOW! My leg isn't red, it's not sore, and on top of all of that...I DID IT! ;)
I do believe I did better then my hubby did his first shave, granted his shave is a bit more of a challenge. I RULE!

Yup, he sure is. It will be 10 years in December.
I will tell you that I'm no pro! It wasn't easy to do my knee and I didn't attempt to do the back of my knee. Maybe next time.
Wow, I can't believe I did that.
I'm not your average girl...lol. I don't like "girly" things but I'm still a little "girly". I know what a wrench is...and I can even use one...lol
Wow, I can't believe I did that.
Thank you! Now Wxman wants me to get my own. He is already being greedy. Lol
Wow, I can't believe I did that.
Well done...I got a pretty good shave too, but I ended up with 5-6 small nicks on my face........
Wow, I can't believe I did that.
Ummm, I don't think I am ready for that one yet, but maybe after I have a few more shaves under my belt.
Wow, I can't believe I did that.
Key word there is "minimal" scars. I'm sure everyone will have at least a few, I've been working hard on mine.

It's here and it's perfect! I can't wait to use it! I am so glad I decided to buy from whipped dog. It's a 4/8 but I don't know much else about it. I will look it up. It also came with a really cool box.

It is a pretty cool looking old razor...but we can't seem to find out anything about it. Doesn't really say much on the blade other than "Classic", which returns pretty much everything on a search, and the other thing is "A.Witze Germany".
Already thinking about a second blade myself and think I might try a surprise one from whipped dog too!

The second shave went much better and I hope tonight's shave does also. I am going to do this and do it the right way hopefully with minimal scars...lol
The best way to avoid cuts is to try and separate the lather from the skin. If you go too shallow you're just spreading it around. If you go just high enough you're slicing between the skin and lather and taking the lather off.
Good luck with the legs. When my wide was pregnant with our youngest she let me shave her let's when she could no longer reach them. Not so much these days because I butchered her ankles one time. :(
Re: Wow, I can't believe I did that.
I found that adding a couple drops of glycerin to the lather as I worked it up helped it to stay around longer when I was shaving my wife's legs. I also usually übered by using soap, glycerin and a little bit of cream from either The Real Shave Co. or Kiss My Face as both are available locally to me and work wonderfully. Both also run around $6 a container so they're quite reasonably priced as well.

It's usually found with the laxatives.
It can also be found in a cake decorating shop but it tends to be more expensive at those places. It's less than $4 at my local pharmacy for a multi year supply.

We do have a rite aid here I just haven't been able to get there yet...lol
Thank you tho. I will have to experiment more with my lather. I just hope it works for me and I'm sure watching some videos would help also.
