Default Mixing cream and oil for that perfect shave....

I usually use a TOBS sandalwood cream for my shaves. Today I tried something a little different. The first pass was as usual with the TOBS, but for the second I applied a film of almond oil to my face and went ATG. Result? My smoothest shave yet. I'm very pleased with it. Either my lathering technique needs to get better (I always feel like the blade isn't floating freely on ATG runs) or I've found the solution to my problems with the oil.

I haven't tried mixing the oil with the later, but I might give it a go - though I imagine it'll probably kill it.... I haven't had so much fun since trying to sync my carbs by ear and vibration on my old Dnepr rig

I have found by trial and error that oil will work when mixed with creams but not with soaps. The soap suspends the oil and kills the lather, but seems to work with creams. I also add glycerin to both soap and creams for extra slick lather. Let us know what you experience.
The tale is doon, and God save al the rowte!
