Actually, your not the only one. I have a beautiful W&B Bow Razor restoration from Max. She drew blood every time, 5 or so, before I put her in the display case. Someday I will have the courage to face her again.

Obviously the problem is what Ryan said,it's the operator, I don't pay enough attention when I use her.

That's easy to figure out. You're looking at the reflection of that BEAUTIFUL RAZOR in the mirror, and not what it's cutting!!!

I have an antique Boker that has bitten me several times. It shaves so well that I forget what I am doing. Then, I cut myself really good.

I am happy to say I have never cut my self while shaving with a straight razor.;)

Now If I could only figure out what the heck it is I am doing when slice myself cuz it sure ain't shaving.....:thinking:

Hirlau, unless it's the point that's drawing blood try a few laps of chrome ox (if you have some) and that should smooth it out nicely.

I will have to learn how to use the chrome ox, I have never used pastes before. I've only sharpened on stones.

I think it was the point, most of the time & it was early in my straight shaving. The cut always under the cheek bone , as I worked around the mustache area.

I recently have been enlightened, Brother! Come on in.....the water's fine! I use a super thin piece of balsa in a suspended strop with the green stuff. Just the best thing EVER! Come on in, Hirlau! ;)

I will, just right now I'm into the DE razors & cream craze.
