First straight shave in over a year!
Hi all.
Been a while since I've been here. Today I shaved straight for the first time in over a year. I recently moved and my razors had been packed away. I'd been using an old double-edge with shaving cream (hanging head in shame) since I got here. Anyway, I ran out of blades and needed a shave, so I remembered I have about 20 straights ready to go. I decided on my Bigelow & Dowse 7/8"
I lathered up with a brush for the first time in over a year, found a place to hang my strop and went to work. Halfway through I regretted drinking 3 cups of coffee beforehand. It was unfamiliar. I felt like I had no idea how to shave. I couldn't seem to hold the razor correctly. Needless to say, it took me a long time.
But I didn't cut myself. And it's the best shave I've had in over a year.
And I'm doing it again soon.
It's good to be back on SRP, too.
