It takes me about twenty minutes to get bbs- this isn't counting prepping, post shave, and clean up.
That depends on the Razor i use and how many time i have, if i have to be fast it could take around 5min, when i take my time it usually takes 10-15min.
Usually about 20 minutes from blade to face to final rinse of lather for a 3 pass shave. I like a slow enjoyable shave for fast there is a DE.

It really depends. Most of the time my brush soaks while I am showering or bathing. I like to let it soak for a couple minutes.
I made a video a while back that started with me making lather. I then applied the lather, and stropped 15 fabric and 60 on leather. By then my beard was prepped. I did my typical 2 pass shave and rinsed my face before patting it dry. The video was 10 minutes (I then edited it to shorten it).
I'd guess it takes another minute or two to dry my mug and razor and put away my strop and splash on some aftershave.
I don't race, but it doesn't take that long either.
Perhaps 10-15 minutes seems like an eternity to the guys I pass on the road using cordless electrics, but its just a nice break in my day.
I guess it takes about 5-10 minutes for the shave.
Shower, shave, and everything else is under 20 minutes.
I guess the shave part with prep and clean up is 10 minutes.
As long as possible to be honest:)
Anything from about 15 minutes to a full 45 mins of pampering myself, depending on my mood and available time.
From the moment I lather my face to cold water rinse, three passes, I guess it is about 20-25 minutes. With a straight razor, of course.
The joys of being retired. There is absolutely no hurry. Shave time is my time. Just the shaving part, around 25-30 minutes. Have to have a sip of coffee now and then and adjust the volume on the stereo.
I'm only about 5 straight shaves in. First full shave took about an hour and a half. This morning's shave only took an hour :)
It takes me about 30 minutes, it would probably be a bit quicker if I didn't have to keep getting the alum out! I don't know if being a carpenter helps, as regards to holding a blade, angles, WTG, XTG and ATG...it all applies to wood!
With the straight razor about 45 mins from first stroke to rinse but I'm still a newb. If I cheat and use the Mach 3 for the difficult spots only about 20 mins.
Rarely more than six minutes. My record is a minute and 56 seconds.
30 min from notion to lotion.
Ed,
In sunny QLD it takes 15 to20 minutes, no train to catch!
A one pass shave takes 5-6, a two pass with touchups, about 10-15.
For me today it was 0 minutes! :rofl2:
It takes me about 10-15mins. to shave.
25-45 depending on how much time I can spare. I allot an hour and a half for shower and shave before work. Shower is the real variable...prep takes about 15, then whatever is left for shaving/cleanup :) I enjoy every second of it!! On non-work days about 45 for the actual shave...I take my time and concentrate on angles and pressure, still being fairly nooby and all

10 to15 min from prep to aftershave ( head and face )
Just the shave................ With a DE, ATG, XTG passes on the chrome dome and 2 passes on the beard 10 min.
With a straight, just the beard, 2 passes 10 - 15 min. longer if I take a third pass ATG, and then on to the DE for a head shave another 5 min. or less
I try to keep the whole process to an hour or less - I don't want to take longer than my wife does primping/ and prepping ;)
After two weeks of str8, it takes about 10-15 minutes for workdays, about 25-30 when I'm on my own time.
At some point you just have to trust. I went through a "speed-shaving" jag about six months after I started SR shaving, literally timing my shaves with a stopwatch. It was risky, and, at times, messy, but I learned a lot from it and was able to minimize my preparation as a result. I now do only those things that I know will have an effect on the shave. There's nothing wrong with all the showers and hot towels and all of that, but I never found that it made any difference and wasn't worth my time.
As for fast shaves, the 1:56 shave was actually a bit quicker than that for it also involved setting the stopwatch, putting it down then picking it up and stopping it after the shave. It was at that point, when I got under two minutes, that I terminated my "speed-shaving" adventure, figuring that was quick enough.
What I learned from doing it was that the short, quick strokes that Newbies are advised to start with slow down the shaves as the shaver gains skills. My strokes are now long, normally from the neck up over the jaw line then all the way to the top of the chin. After completing those long strokes all that remains is some touch up around the lip area, and I'm finished. My shaves now normally average 5 minutes. Lathering only takes 20 seconds or so, then a cold water splash and I'm done in a total of 6 minutes.
There is only one problem with this thread and that is everyone seems to have a different idea of what constitutes a shave. For me a shave is 3.5 passes and includes rewetting and relathering after each pass. There is no standardization as everyone's needs are different. A beginner reading this thread trying to gauge if they fall into a norm time wise may just get the wrong idea and feel they need go faster. Big mistake for a beginner to push themselves to go faster too soon.

20 minutes most of the time.
About 10-20 minutes depending on which razor I use and how bbs I want to get.
This is not intended in any way to be remarkable. It's just a real time demo of a guy shaving while his son watches and video records.
I fully intend to educate my three sons as much as they desire with regard to shaving. My father was a great man, but taught me almost nothing about shaving. I owe this forum for what I learned. No offense, but I want my boys to learn from me;)

This is very typical for shave time. When I shave my whole face, it takes a little longer, but not much. The results of this shave were pretty good (DFS but not BBS everywhere).
20 to 30 minutes for me, from the moment I walk into the bathroom , till my razor is ready for the next shave.
