This is the first straight razor I have bought in ages. I think I did rather well. Le Grelot. Before after pics. Just had some haze, no real rust issues and no pits. I need to buy a wrecked blade and cannibalize the scales. These are warped and one shrunk a bit it seems. Lovely shape to this razor.

I think you did rather well also. Looks to be worth it for the blade alone which should clean up well with a minimum of effort and take a fine edge. With a nice pair of replacement scales she would be a classic rescue.

Looks like it's almost ready for a Sunday go to meetn' shave. Nice razor.
Very happy I got more or less period correct (albeit american) black celluoid scales. Putting french stuff in anything other than simple black or white is just wrong imo.
Lovely blade, is it 6/8" or possibly a shade over/under ?

Thank you for the heads up! I see guys with blades on scales like these sometimes in bst threads and wonder where the hell they came from.
I'm thankful the pivot area was pretty much corrosion free. The steel on this thing is HARD and puts up one hell of a fight to get it back up to speed.
Do any of you guys know who sells tiny quantities of pins and washers be it online or here? The quantities on ebay are really far more than I require.

Great job with the restoration. I honed this razor JNS 1K, Striped Iyoto, Asano Yae Botan, Botan, Tenyjou, Mejiro, and Koma on a Umajiyama Asagi. 30/60 Linen/English Bridle. This is the second of three razors I honed for KRB using the same progression on three different finishers.
First shave with this today. Phenomenal shave quality for something unfamiliar. Blade was extremely sharp but felt as mellow as a butter knife. The last time I used a superspeed irritated me more. Beautiful razor, awesome honing job by Bayamontate. I stropped it on my 827 afterwards. Look forward to another go.
