I've just done a bit of cleaning with Mothers and a Scotchbrite wheel on my dremel, hence the "brushed steel" finish.
This is a tad over 6/8" at its widest, the scales are perfect, and just a tiny bit of pitting at the toe.
I really don't want to do too much more to this, but I'm always open to suggestions.

Good work! Very little wear and they are really nice shavers! The spine clip gives strength to a thin blade and also make the correct bevel angle.
Very light laps with a torque/twist toward the bevel seem to be the best for honing these. To simplify, lighty twais the edge toward the stone without lifting the spine at all. That will reduce spine wear.

Thanks for that Richard, I was wondering about honing a true frameback and what you say makes sense. I'll give it a try !!
The blade is thin so the little bit of pitting will have to stay. Not a problem for me.

Now get rid of the brushed look of the dremel,do some hand sanding.JMO
Are replacement frames available, I have a frameback, that the frame is showing some wear on and was considering the.possibilities of replacement. I realise that I could probably make one but I doubt it would turn out pretty.

You might go to a hobby shop and check out the hard brass tubing they carry in the materials area. I hand file a rod to fit inside the end to the shape I want and then anneal the end of the tube ( red hot and dip into water) I lightly hammer the filled tube against a wood block with a light pinning hammer to shape it. Cutting a slot the whole length is a chore but can be done, both with a saw or a Dremel and cut off disk..Quote:

I have used the products for a lot of things. The rod and sheet are nice for pins and hand cut thrust washers.
