Thread: Some old Sheffield brown horn

These came in recently. First is an ebay Joseph Elliot (one of only 2 Elliots I have now). The blade is not perfect, but nice, and a full 7/8.





Next is a lucky antique store find, an early 1800s Rhodes and Champion. The first from that maker that I've had. It was $22 but, the best part is, there was a 40% off sale on top of that. Not bad. (the same place I nabbed a perfect CVH MK31 in ivory for $20, but that's another story...)





And finally, a recent ebay win. I can't tell you how long I've been trying to get this particular kind of Wade and Butcher For Barbers Use. The others (Celebrated and the later ones with the single stamp) I've had a number of but have always resold them. This one I'll keep. Unusually for the larger FBU blades, it has rather light brown horn scales. This one went surprisingly low, and the blade is around 0.93". I was surprised. I'm really drawn to the huge collars - they're over 0.325" wide.
