    Default Maher&Grosh - Toledo Blade

I picked up this razor off ebay for really next to nothing. I have really been wanting a Maher/Grosh simply because I was born and raised and currently live in Toledo, Ohio, which is what is stamped on the razor. This particular razor has our hometown newspaper etched into the blade as well, "The Toledo Blade", I'm sure pun intended. The razor had a little rust on it and needed cleaned up a bit, but nothing extreme. This is the first razor I have cleaned up in this manner. Honestly I did not expect much in the line of a good shave, but boy was I wrong!!! After a bit of sanding and polishing, it honed up very easily I must say. I hesitated last night and ended up saying, "what the hell" and gave it a whirl much to my delight! It moved so smoothly down the side of my face! Ended up w/ a BBS 3 pass shave.

I now partially know the satisfaction you guys feel when you get something un-useable and turn it into a smooth shaver. These are the before pics, I will post some "after" pics this evening.

I guess I would call them semi-after pics. It was a rough sanding and polishing, but I was so excited to get it on the hones and face soon after that I didn't have at it 100%. I am really quite happy with the current condition so may just keep the vintage look and great edge!
