The luckiest son on Earth
So after my Christmas visit with my father, I truly feel that I am the luckiest son in the world to have a father such as mine!!! as many of you may know, I made a straight for my father http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...onya-burl.html . Well in return my father gave me all of my grandfather's and both of my great grandfathers' shaving equipment. First he gave me my grandfather's "ever ready" horse hair brush. then there was my great grandfather's (the barber) shaving mug, two "ever ready" brushes in badger hair and his Boker Red Injun No 101 R.P. (yet this razor does not have a round point and seems to have been that way from factory.) The razor dates to between 1924-1936 I believe. he also gave me my other great grandfather's "ever ready" brush in boar bristle and his straight razor. his straight razor was a Bowdin's concave, and I am unsure of the dates of its manufacture.
That was not all that he gave me.... he also gave me the anvil that he had made from a piece of railroad track (my father was a knife maker as well). All of this along with a big slice of Chittum burl that he had been saving. Now this Chittum burl is supposedly a species that only grows in very few places, one of which just happens to be my home town. well here are the pictures of everything.Justin
I would rather be outdoors!!!
