    Default A small Tally Ho

Got this one on ebay for like $10 shipped. Thought I had scored maybe an 8/8 Tally Ho, but opened the box to realize it was more like 5/8. However, I can't say I'm disappointed, as it has proven very interesting. Compare the last pic, where there is an 8/8 Joseph Rodgers...

I'm not sure if it was a sample or a travel razor or what, but it is basically a miniature razor. It's very interesting to me.

It is quite curious. Perhaps it was shortened a very long time ago? I would expect that razors have been shortened and modified out of necessity since the beginning. There is also the possibility that it was for the Japanese market as they seem to want shorter blades. I once had a shortened Puma from Japan. Of course all just thinking out loud on my part.

I think it was made as-is, as the proportions are all spot on, it's just... small. The tail size, blade width and thickness, scale length and shape, wedge size, etc are all in proportion.

As usual you manage to find the curious and unusual, even when you don't expect to apparently.

I've got several of those, and some of them were horn razors.

Don't know if Tally Ho were making horn razors or if this one has been cut during his life, but I must say that I also like those small ones.

Been there done that....Shorty blades always cast the illusion of a wider blade...but I like Shorty blades so its not bad LOL.

Hello those are korn razors, for cutting the dead skin of the feet, I've got a bunch of it, but they can also cut facial hair

Ah thanks Charlie, I was wondering about that but have only seen the more modern corn razors of a slightly different shape.
