Mo idea who made this blade, but seems to be in ivory coloured scales and a wooden tang.
Not a bad investment in a curious piece. I like the spine work so will post better shots once it arrives.

But that would be nice. The spine etching reminded me of WB but never seen a wooden tang skin before and figured if WB made one, it'd be on SRP already.
Quite possibly in your collection all ready as well..
If it is, maybe those scales are actually bone or ivory, not celluloid, and I do like a hollow ground blade. Local pick up to boot so I should have it before weeks end. Just have to risk driving into Scarberia..

Actually - the wood looked to me like a repair job, was maybe a nice covered tang, broke off, and the owner handedly made a homemade replacement?:shrug:Quote:

I agree Phrank, a repair job. They almost had it too, just needed to work that tail a bit thinner. Cool razor Mike, you think you might change that tail or leave it alone?Quote:

Just guessing, if it was an originally covered tang and the guts are still intact, might be a good trial for my piano key ivory as tang skin replacements. The wooden tail is quite overly large, so I will definitely be doing something there. Hope the original is still inside. Look forward to finding out.

May i say it was deep saw marks and very unsquare.
Random orbit sander with 80 grit paper had it all fixed in 5 minutes.
A couple of grids and the DMT and it was in working condition.
For the price and size its found a place with my finishers.
I lapped it with 1K diamond plate and put it to work.
That random orbit saved my arms and hours of frustration.
The Arkansa white or washita behaves like a hard vintage finisher.
Before and after lapping, Whitened up quick, very hard stone.
