Ah, you noticed that did ya? In the description is said they found it in their garage.
Three fragrance sample packs in the mail today. Histoires de Parfums, Rogue Perfumery and a pack of various 'Spicey' fragrances. Also two decants from Eight & Bob and an Amouage.

I had a Boar brush some time ago that my wife gave me but I didn't like it so I gave it to my Barber who was still practicing. It was a really nice Omega.
I never really gave it a fair shake. I used it a few times and it was stiff, coarse, didn't hold any heat whatsoever etc, etc. It just didn't hold a candle to my high end Badgers.
In retrospect I never really gave it a chance so thought for this ridiculously low price on the iconic 48 I should at least see what they are capable of.

I have one of those myself.

It is a big ol' thing and breaks in nicely. I personally like the stiffer brushes but don't really find this one as stiff as many I have used. Perhaps your other one was a one off. Maybe try a soak in hair conditioner for a day or two if the new one seems stiff.
Oh I will definitely soak this for 24 hours min. and buff on a towel followed by several lathers before even touching my face.
I will let this truly break in for a while before final consideration. I can't imagine it ever comes close to my Badgers but I will give it my best shot.
I intentionally bought the longer loft as I like a soft brush but with some backbone. If this one seems to my liking feel wise but becomes a little floppy I can rehandle it no problem, I have the tools:)
Picked up this TI Spatacus today at an antique shop.

It was in pretty good shape and had the original box. Very little hone wear also. Man, this thing has a thin grind.
They also had a W&B The Celebrated FBU that was 8/8-9/8. I couldn't see the price tag through the case, only a $ a 3 and a 2. I thought, well maybe they don't know what they have and n it's $32.00. Once she opened it up I could see the 5 at the end. Beautiful razor, as like new as a 175 year old razor that hasn't been restored can look but they were asking full price for it. I didn't have enough cash with me to haggle over it but at that price I probably have time.
Nice score. I have never held one of those.
