Trace the outline of the scales onto a piece of stiff paper. Make sure you mark where the wedge is. Take your naked blade and position it on the outline. When you are happy with it’s position, mark the location of the hinge hole and transfer that to the actual scale. Drill the hole on one side and use that as a guide to drill through the other.
This is easier to do if the scale kit contains two separate scale pieces since you can work with the flat inside surfaces. I can’t tell from your photo if that is the case with the Maggard kit.
