Grammy was a very active Irish Roman Catholic. Also a decoupage fanatic. So she adorned gramps shave bowl with some strong protectors lest he cut himself..
Gave away all his straights long before I grew chin hair sadly.
Happy with the bowl though..
Cheers.
That's so cool Mike!
Thanks Andrew. Was a nice surprise for sure. Had no idea my mom had it but she found it when we moved her to her new digs couple weeks back so she surprised me.
Now to find the right puck to put in there!!
Suggestions are welcome keeping in mind the bowl profile.
Cheers.
That's the best. Wonderful story and history!
Attachment 241203 This should be arriving on Monday. My first ebay purchase looks to me to be in good overall shape. I can not seem to find any info on Franklin C co. Has anyone had any experience with this brand? Thanks for looking gents

An antique shop near me had a Yardley bowl with the soap that I was tempted to get, but the soap was extremely dry and cracking and the bowl was so warped that the cover needed quite a bit of force to get it on or off. If it looked as nice as yours I would've got it.
I don't know anything about the company but made in Germany is usually a good thing. Fancy scales, too. Here's another also with fancy scales http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...klin-c-co.html
I have seen this pic thank you for sharing though, I appreciate it. I finally have dug up the fact that it is Franklin Cutlery Co. Also found that a company Lamson & Goodnow used the trademark for a time as well. I just know I am stoked for its arrival. Thanks xiaotuzi
