I'm waiting on a La Veinette 150 x 50 mm coticule directly from the mine at Ardennes.
It will be my first natural stone. Looking forward to learning how to get a comfortable edge from it.

They sell Ardennes select Coticule at the SRD store. I know, I bought one. The box the sell for it says Ardennes on it. How much is this stone costing you? They also sell a slurry for it.
Sorry for the dumb questions but what's the benefits of a magnifier? Is it somethingi may need starting off or something I will want later on?Quote:

The magnifier is to help my old tired eyes see if I'm doing what I am trying to do with the blade.
The 1 and 3K stones are to reset the bevel (I think that it was originally set with tape, which I do not use).
