Mike, those Rolls Royce aren't as popular as a Gillete or a straight razor but I have a couple & I think they are just pretty neat the way they have it all setup in one nice "package" & they are actually nice shavers once ya get one dialed in.

The rolls is awesome! You pop the guard off the blade, don't lose the little ball, and 3 layers of tape. Make them an inch longer on each end. That makes little handles to flip the blade as-honing. Straight up and down with the thumbs.
Never use the rolls hone. Just the strop. You will see the leather and stone will only fit it's perspective side.
The Autostrop will work wonderfully with Feather FHS single edge blades.
Into the B52 box some go.
Will be fun to check them out gents. Might make a cool travel kit.
The rolls is from 27 I think is what the seller told me.
Will be picking them up tomorrow on my way home from work.
:beer1:
On the Wilkies, the bare blades will slide into an old Weck like this for honing and stropping.
Just have to use some discretion as getting them in and out.
That is a Wilkinson blade in there..

One of those in the box for Phrank.....
Tom, appreciate what a wealth of knowledge you are.
Reread your post above, I'm sure it will make more sense tomorrow once I have rolls in hand.
Neat way to hone a single edge blade buddy!
:tu
Mike, some are marked differently but if you look at the "spine" end of the blade, it should show you the date. Also some have a groove in the side for the handle to fit in nice & neat. This one is from '53.

Edit: BTW B52, looks like the handle might be missing a part of it. It's usually a 2 piece & they screw together. I may have an extra, i'll have to look. I remember I have one somewhere that wouldn't come apart but it may just need to sit in some penetrating lube for awhile. Lube is your friend in more ways than one!
I'll add with the Rolls, be careful when assembling the panels to the box, if it is not all in place accordingly the stone will crack. Nice score, I also have rolls and auto strop. If you need a strop for the auto hit me up i have an extra.
It is kindof easy to see lots of busted ones for sale. It takes common sense to use.
100 ways to screw one up! Same old story.
:rofl2:
