Although I have made the transition to straights, I do miss the convenience and time-saving qualities of a DE razor on occasion. Thus I have invested in a Feather AS-D2 all-stainless. It can't hurt to have one DE in the rotation during those days when I don't have the time to devote to my usual, and lengthy, shaving ritual. Should have her by the end of the month. A sound acquisition I think. Cheers!
A lot of us have a DE for that reason.
Just placed my order for a new strop from SRD. I went the inexpensive route for now with the 3in Latigo with rings. I can cut it to pieces while still learning and go with a nicer one later on.
Go slow and be careful on the flip. You will find SRD Latigo with D rings to be a very nice strop that will last a long time.
I have two shorties coming in:
An S.R Droescher 6/8th
Attachment 178343
and a Wester Bros Di-Fi 34 which is actually heading to be honed first before coming home.
Attachment 178345
The Di-Fi is on the top, of course. :D
I think the shorties are going to help me on my checks, since I have a beard. I find it difficult to work around my beard with a full size blade.
