Ultrasound? Aren't those out of focus pics of naked people?

Both are excellent quality Soligens - will feel like the US blades on the face. 'Hard to tell from the pics, but that first one almost looks like it frowns.

By 'find' - do you mean Antique store or ebay stuff? If so - you have some bumps ahead. Are you decent at restorative grinding so they *can* be honed? Can you reliably get a comfortable shave from an 8k stone? Or have an experienced friend that'll do it cheap or free? Were they sold as 'shave ready' (varies from guy to guy)

'Would suggest sending at least one of them out for pro honing, so you get a fair experience of a str8 shave. When it comes back - don't strop until after the first shave. I say that 'cause learning to strop can be hard on edges. I was horrible at it - dulled my edges.

Its all learnable & you can do it. Having done so much of it wrong, I try to keep guys from repeating my foolishness.

A barrel full of monkeys and a turn at the learning curve.
Didnt show what I broke and ruined in the process. Got a pile of blades and a heap of restoration to go.
Boker took to a corticle just fine .Its all the rest that gives me pause. smiles, frowns and wedges dont hone the same as full and half hollows

Those SRD razors are top shelf.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

The mixed bag also has a Blue Diamond SRD but I cant decide if I should leave what appears to be a patina starting to form. Its blue in color and its only on the pigtail and tang. Will post pictures before I do anything as I dont want to ruin it. Glad to know that SRD are high quality. Before this find I never heard of them.
