My son and I went to a yardsale this weekend and mostly just normal junk. Recently I have made it a habit to just ask before leaving "hey, do you have any old barber stuff, razors, or shaving related items". The gent said no but as I was leaving the guy flags me down after going into his house and pulls out a Carl Monkhouse in great shape (no cell rot, sweet scales, and nice clean edge) with the original box. Can't wait to clean it up and hone and shave. Probably 1920's or 30's, it's a Solingen marked one and not one distributed from New York which I believe are a bit later. He says "make me an offer" and the rest is history. Anyways, just wanted to emphasize "JUST ASK" because you never know, happy hunting.

Also, I thought it was interesting the box states 5/8 WEDGE but it looks more like a 1/4 Hollow to me and not a full wedge like some of the true wedges I have. I tried to get a pic of this in the second photo but it didn't come out too good.
