Yep! Right again, Ed! http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ring-tail.html
oh me,well it looks very nice as well as unique ! [emoji106]
Thanks for the info, guys. I don't think this is a modified half of a scissors because the blade and tang all look pretty typical to me. Just the tail looks to have been drawn out very thin then curled up and over and welded back into the ring shape. Unfortunately I have to go on a business trip this week but next week I plan on honing it and giving it a test drive. The ring was a bit uncomfortable when I tried holding it in the shaving position, mostly because the thin ring would press into my ring finger and put a lot of pressure on the middle bone as the near wedge blade is quite hefty. Here are the full resolution photos if anyone wants a better look at it.
Here is the full resolution photo for you. It clearly says "Celebrated Razor Sheffield" on lines 2 and 3 but line 1 with the maker's name was illegible. The seller wanted to keep it because he liked the unusual gunstock scales and I wanted the Joseph Rodgers because I collect Joseph Rodgers (and Joseph Elliot) razors specifically. I can't remember if the seller told me the maker of the third razor he sold long ago or if he even remembered.
It clearly says "Ring Tailed Razor", Jimmy! Really! :roflmao\
Hobson's?
