It was way back in January when I purchased my first straight razor. I decided to commemorate the event by having the razor undergo custom restoration. gssixgun agreed to take on the project, and here's the result:

8/8 W&B Celebrated Hollow Ground, polished, but kept the etch so there is still a little wear and tear left
Scales: Irish Bog Oak @ .105" thick, pressure treated twice using Daly's SeaFin
Wedge: Brass Lined Amber
Pins: Brass
Honing: Chosera 1-5-10 Select Coticule finisher
I asked Glen to leave the blade with some of its well-earned character left; I think that he really pulled it off. The bog oak is approximately 5000 years old! Glen came up with the idea for the amber wedge, since it's age compliments the old wood; I love it!
And check out Glen's sweet, skinny bevel... the entire edge looks like that...both sides!
