    Default James Wilks Junior

I just got this one in the mail today & even though the blade protrudes out throughout the bottom of the scales, I will have to fix that but I love the blade. It is very unique! It is a James Wilks Junior, Baltimore. I'll have to take it apart at the wedge end & make the wedge a little narrower. I don't know if those are the original scales but they are horn. It has jimps in the finger grooves on the blade.

I have never seen that brand before, is it the brand or is it etched for someone. It reminds me a lot of Joseph Elliot. Nice blade.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

That's the maker. I tried looking it up but found nothing.

    very nice
the scales sure don't look right.
how do you like the feel of the double notched area when you hold it for stropping & using?

I should research it more. Did get some info on it from another one & it is what it says, Pre-Civil War beauty from Baltimore. The scales do appear to be original but are worn some.

Thanks! I'm going to need to take 'er apart & fix it where the blade is poking through the scales a little bit but al I need to do is make the wedge a little thinner.
