THis is encouraging. I have a pile of ugly :<0) They are tools, and some just look better than others. IF they work, you have a great tool.
I got a old beat up Leader that is the same way. Something special about a ugly beat up razor that shaves so well. It's almost like it has something to prove and isn't ready to die.
i'm not ashamed to use less then perfect razors. i'm working on a few right now that i call my "rat razors" i'm just getting rid of the active rust and putting the original scales back on as is. first one done and shaves great!
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder?
I have several old straights that have "exceptional character".
Some of them have scales that are wired, wound with thread or string, or even repaired with surgical tape. I just leave the old repairs as I found them. I appreciate the idea that the old razor had proven its value as the previous owner beleived it was worth repairing.
I have not been disapointed in the shaves from these "character" razors.
I think having a humble character was much more common in days of old.
Our politicians ( I am thinking of a very high ranking one in particular) would be much better off if they would "humble up".
I like the overall look of it, especially the scales! And if it shaves great, then you've got an all around gem! Not ugly at all. :nono:
