Thanked: 49two fatboys and a slim
Received these razors from the bay this week. The two fatboys are in excellent condition and function very well. I will shave with one of them tonight. Everything works on the slim except the adjustment knob turns and clicks, but does not adjust. I've tried some of the things mentioned in threads and videos, but no joy.

Is the adjuster plate stuck?
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

For a stuck adjuster plate it can take many long soaks. A bit of dish soap can help a lot, and an ultra sonic cleaner speeds it up quite a bit. A warning about really long soak times and the ultrasonic, it cans cause the paint in the numbers to loosen and fall out.

Thanked: 49I've been soaking. Hot water with dishsoap, boiling (ish) water, white vinegar(for a longish while), hot white vinegar. Haven't gotten any pipe cleaners yet, but will pick some up next time I'm in town. The paint was already gone except for one dot so not much lost if that goes away. Back to soaking in hot water with dish soap now.
Shaved with one of the fatboys tonight. I can see why these razors are so well regarded. Excellent shave. Did three passes on five (WTG, two XTG); and my fourth pass (ATG) on four. Typically I do a fool's pass unless I'm quite irritated. I did one tonight. Love that super smooth mustache area feeling. Next time I might do the first pass on six and then dial back for the remainder of the shave.

Thanked: 49It's freed up. Thanks guys. I was going to post a couple second video of me moving it up and down, but that proved to be more trouble than it was worth. Thanks again for the advice.
