Default The Other Piece Of The Puzzle

I have had a Lord Byron Wade & Butcher straight razor box for quite some time now but I did not have the razor that goes with it. I put an ad in the wanted section here in the classifieds & I had a reply from another member but it was the day after the accident on my Harley so I never saw it until a couple weeks ago. It seems this new member who has not been on ever since, told me they had that razor. I sent them a pm & never got a reply so a few days later, I sent them an email. Meanwhile, I was on eBay one day & I just happened to see one & it had just a few minutes left so I sniped it at the last second for a decent price, not very much at all. I then got a reply in my email later that day & the person said sorry, they had just sold it on eBay. I said, "that was me, I won it from you" & I gave my name. I got a reply back from a young woman saying yes, that it indeed was me that won it!!! I was so happy I saw it. I had it in my saved searches but it never came up, I just happened to be looking on the bay & saw it or someone else would have won it. I just got the other piece of the puzzle today in the mail. The razor number is on the box & also on the razor. I have only seen one other one & it was Zak that has one also. On the blade it says, "In golden characters right well designed. - First on the list - Byron, Childe Harold"
He was an English poet & a leading figure in the Romantic movement. He is best known for lengthy narrative poems such as Don Juan & Childe Harold's Pilgrimage & for the short lyric, She Walks In Beauty. He is recognized as one of the greatest British Poets.
When it came, it was tarnished & dull looking but I polished it with my Dremel. The spot on the scale is glare. It has very little hone wear.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

That thing is awesome... Where's do you find those things? Is this something you find in an antique store or more of a specialty piece?

I got the box on eBay about a year ago with the wrong straight razor in it. I've been looking for one of the right ones & I finally found one.
