17/16 tillotson union razor
i picked up this beast recently for a small fortune, here it is in all its yet-to-be restored splendor! 17/16 at the toe, just under that at the heel and yes it is designed this way, not honed this way.

i may just hone it up as is and shave with it, then shelve it for a little while before doing any resto work. the scales can be repaired but im mulling over some special plans for it as well Originally Posted by engine46

I do believe the expression is rush a restore and ruin a blade, however this time we can adjust it to rush into a restore and wish you had done something different. If they are safe there is no need to do anything hasty, you don;t find ones like that every day.
