I picked this up for surprisingly cheap. A Joseph Rodgers, 1830-37, with full blade etching: both blade faces, both tangs, and spine, nearly the entire available surface.

Terrific find. A real tour de force in the art of SR blade etching.

That's awesome! I have never seen something like that.
That's a wonderful find!! Enjoy it.
I have a F Fenney similar but this one is much nicer. I've never seen one with a lot of etching like that one. it's such a beauty!!!!!!!
GREAT blade ya found.......
Looks pretty clean.... I can't wait to see what the finished product is going to look like......
Ivory scales would be top choice for those!

Awesome find. I'm looking forward to the finished product also...
That one needs some silver or pearl scales, JMO.
That is gorgeous. Scales in ivory would only compliment the etching. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, simply amazing, I hope you can match it up with some equally gorgeous scales. Any thoughts on why the blade is so elaborately etched? Maybe for some exhibition show or a custom piece for a special client like some duke or earl?
Omg. I love it. I swear one day I will have a blade like this one. One day....
Enjoy and use it in good health.
