First finds "in the wild"!
So, I was visiting with my grandkids (and their parents :D) and mentioned that I was interested in SRs to my daughter's father-in-law, when he was sharing a picture of an antique horse drawn sleigh he had found abandoned in an old barn. To my surprise, he said he had a razor and "stone" of his father's, who died about a year ago. He ran home and picked them up and gifted me...refusing to take anything in return.
Pictured below, the "stone" is an H. S. B.& Co. "Our Very Best" 2 grit Barber hone in the box, with instructions. It does look and feel like it was used with oil. The razor is a Premier Cutlery, Inc "Blackie", in fairly decent shape. It's going to be my first clean-up try. If anyone has any info on it, I'd love to hear it. I searched and didn't find anything quickly. I just returned home from the trip.
