Default Been a few years, but my recent acquisitons

    Good evening everyone!

I frequented SRP a few years ago, but for personal reasons I took some time off. But as all of you know, once you start collecting, it never stops.

I went by my local antique shop with only $30 in my pocket and came home with these gems.

Griffon Cutlery Works Germany "Antelope" in 6/8

And the one that really stood out to me was this one. In very simple font, it says "Caudano Torino"
I can't find much info on the razor company other than it was once of few Italian razor companies. The razor measures 13/16.

Not too bad for the day if I must say so.

$30???? you did great! You got some nice off brands there that look real decent. Looks like very minimal cleaning is required to get them back shaving and of course a good hone. Enjoy them!

Some really awesome finds! Getting hard to find anything in the Chicago area anymore. Come across stuff occasionally.
Really like that Torino! As HARRYWALLY said, a little cleanup and hone. Love razors with a little patina and those rock!!

Couldn't agree more. Every antique shop in the area is pretty picked over in the past few years.

Something about the Torino, the shape of the blade shape just seems comfortable.

I honestly only keep razors with patina. I've had countless razors in NOS condition, and I can't seem to keep them for long. The black pitting and stains on the blade just add a certain character to the razor.

I agree. They actually threw that one in, so I wasn't too let down. I'll likely clean it up and put some nice wood on it.

    My thoughts, too.

I would see if it will take a bevel before investing a lot of time in cleaning.
