Yeah. I am glad too. Now that I showed my razor, Lets see what you did.
Then over the next day or so we will fix these before we go farther.
No honing until the blade geometry is fixed. Which razor did you start on?

So I chose the red one. I figured if I screwed it up I wouldn't be as upset add the other. I'm not sure how far to go? Attachment 224175
I took it up a little bit farther.

The entire cutting edge is now sitting flat on the hone, except the very end of the toe edge.probably about a sixth the entire edge.
Perfect, The tip is great, you want that smile. It is a good thing.
Look at how flat the spine is at the toe. Quite .
See how the spine at the middle to the heel is like new. No flattening.
Do you have the electrical tape??
Put 2 layers on the spine . Tape should go from the toe all the way back to the pipe.
Get your Shapton 1K wet. Grid the hone with a pencil. Use your DMT douflat to lap (flatten) the hone.
Use the Coarse side of the lapping plate. You want a lower grit than your 1K hone.
Rinse off the hone when the grid is gone. Rewet the 1K hone and place your razor on the hone.
Make an x stroke Along the length of the hone.
Flip the razor and go back up. DONT go off the TOP or BOTTOM of the hone.
After 25 strokes lets do the sharpie test and tell me what it shows or post the picture.
Your doing good
So with the sharpie, I just run it along the cutting edge and coat the entire length with ink right?
