Size: 16.0 KB I saw this one and it looked ok. I had one of the same name a couple of years ago and decided to give this one a try. It says it's a 6/8 and i see no rust and the scales don't seem to be cracked. I got at little cost so good or not it want be too bad. I forgot in case the name doesn't come out good it's an I Barber.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Roger you seem to always be able to find these fine razors. I,m doing something wrong, but I guess I don't look that hard. Tc

I have been watching some of his razors. That one is nice and there is nothing wrong with it being shiny, but the shine comes from regrinding - the entirety of the blade has seen a contact grinder sometime after it was made, probably to get rid of rust (it is not an original finish). A lot of blades coming out of the Doyle collections were like this, I would be interested to see if there are numbers on the pile side scales.

It is a nice piece and I imagine will shave quite nicely - I have had a few I Barbers.

There are no. on the back side of the sscales near the wedge pin. 1867 is what it looks like but then again i may be wrong on the 6. the 6 may be something else. I know it's been cleaned up some because the dark around the hinge pin is still there. I'll know when i get in hand whether i keep it or not now it's just waiting.

Agreed - wanting one of those as well, and that looks like a fine example....great catch rh, regrind or not!
