Thanked: 2284Minty Boker King Cutter, and a Miss Piggy doll
Well, I found another Boker yesterday while out and about with my 4 year old daughter. We were heading to the grocery store when I noticed she had fallen asleep in the back seat. Well she needs to sleep...... So I'll just keep driving another 20 min to the antique store.
.
My daughter spotted a very nice Miss Piggy doll, that she reeeeeally wanted.... $12, hmmmm. Nice find sweety! Consider it yours!
Not an antique by any means, but some vendors seem to stick some of their thrift store stuff in their booths just to get rid of.
Like I've said in previous threads, I see a lot of Bokers in my area, and that's due to its deep German heritage. I had a little discussion with Ultrasoundguy today, and he was right. These Bokers were work horse razors, and is what would have been readily available back in the day. So that's what the average guy would have bought.
This Boker I found, is a little different than the Bokers I'm use to seeing. Most I have found are very much over honed and rusted. I find the odd one worth taking home and once cleaned up and honed shave like a dream. Well, today I found one on the opposite end of over honed and rusty. I wouldn't fit this into NOS, but It's very, very close. It's never been honed, very few marks, absolutely no rust and perfect scales. The box is also one of the best I've ever seen, and I've had many. Also, the Boker book that can be found with the odd razor is also in terrific condition. I have 2 others and neither are as nice as this, although it has been folded.
Enough talk, here it is.

HEY! My Kermit doll gets lonesome!
Seriously, when my eldest daughter was little, the beany-babies were all the rage.
Took her to a swap meet and was pulling her around in a wagon and she spotted a brand-new one. Something to do with Princess Di, I remember..........100 bucks.
Did not buy much else that day, but she was a hero with her friends!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
