    Default 3 that need work.

Found a few razors today in the wild. They all have some issues but the prices were right.

Top is a Sperry & Alexander Co. New York, Middle is a Schrade Cutlery Co. Walden NY, Bottom is a Wadsworth Razor Co. XLNT.

The middle razor has some damage to the bolsters but it is still intact. Im gonna try to work it back into place.

Sadly the S&A has some damaged to the scales. I love the pattern in the celluloid but ill be making replacement scales for this blade. I liked the Minotaur trademark.

Now i don't know, but i have a hunch the Wadsworth is Ivo. It clicks on the teeth and there is a definite grain pattern in the scale material. Im gonna pop out the pivot pin to clean up the blade so i might try the hot pin test. Any other suggestions?

It was a good hunt. A few razors that need some TLC but that was just what i was lookin for.

The Wadsworth is bone. It has many many little dashes on it in patterns which is very typical of bone. Ivory may have one here of there but never in a pattern like that. Nice haul. It should occupy an evening of here and there for a while.

    Nice find Matt..!!
Your last one is bone. Soak them in peroxide for a few days, it'll brighten them back up.

Bone makes sense. I thought that was a possibility. They are a bit thicker then the Antonberg scales i found a few weeks back. Thanks for the heads up guys. Ill definitely try soaking them.

Great find! I see nothing but potential here.
I have a Wadsworth that is one heck of a good shaver.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

Took em all apart this evening, plus a Post Shear Co straight i had on hold. 2 need new scales. Time to go search the wood pile.. Gonna soak the bone in HP as per MGM's instructions. I was able to peel and unfold the damaged bolster of the Schrade. Maybe i can reform it and CA that sucker back on there. Well see..
