Was going to say 'unlikely', but the picture just posted by OP with the back illumination - 99% sure they're some kind of plastic, maybe celluloid. The patterning isn't right for tortoise.

And the pivot end has collars. As much as I wanted it to be tortoise, looks like no dice. But for $11 I am certainly not complaining.

Ah yeah, the reddish color of those dark spots with the light shining through and the sharp corner of that beveled edge definitely points towards plastic. Oh well, for $11 you still made out like a bandit!

Ah-ha! I was wondering if there were any other SRP folks traveling down that "path less followed" with me . After I started to get "bid up" on a few of mine, I kept checking the forum to see if there were any posts. No dice. That's fine, though. For the last few months that I've been watching that site, this was by far the most razors on there at one time (including RSO's).

Don't worry about me being competition for you in the next few auctions. I've got to flip one or two of the ones I picked up before I can afford to get more shaving toys .

I have my reasons, and I hope you understand, kind sir. My budget for such things is, well, nonexistent. Which is why I can't keep all of the razors .

There is also the saying "plenty of fish in the sea". EBay counts as a "sea", when it comes to available razors. The site we hit this auction on doesn't even qualify as a puddle. As I mentioned, until a week or two ago, there were an average of 6 to 10 SRs there, including Chinese made RSO's.

Even then, SRs rarely went "for a steal". Prices were usually about on par, or just a bit under. Then you have to add costs like buyers premium, and shipping (sometimes YOU are responsible for arranging pick-up/shipping!).

So yea... not an ideal "honey hole". But we got a bit lucky .
