Yet another one. This one is a pretty heavy razor by William Smith of Lombard Street, London. He's listed in a few directories as a cutler/razor maker. This one is likely 1810-1820. The scales are brass-lined ivory and have scrimshawed "Use Me Well I'll Never Cut You".

I've had a project of scrimshaw on ivory for ages, and didn't progressed much because it's taking a lot of time and energy.
I've got acid, and everything needed to do acid etching, but never actually tried it on ivory !

However, the opportunity to use acid to engrave my scales is opening a whole lot of new perspectives.
