I've been looking for one to take with me when the wife and I go away for a few days. Really didn't want to take one that looks good so I bid on this one and won it. It's a J A Hellberg supose to be swedish. I don't know if it will clean up good or not but I do believe the edge will be ok. anyway this is it. It was very cheap and free shipping.

Swedish razors are some very sweet shaving razors. Had a couple in the past and like a fool got rid of them. Been looking for a decent one since but they are hard to find in good condition. Sooner or later I'll get me another and will keep it this time.

That looks like it will be really nice after you clean it up. It might deserve a little bit more than road time.

You might end up using it more often then only while travelling, J. A. Hellberg are fine shavers and I'm sure it will clean up fine.

The Kindal cutlery in Paris is still active and has recently found a lot of NOS blades of MK Heljestrand razors and NOS scales (Ivory, Pearlmother, Tortoise shell, resin) that where assembled last year.

Found this one on the Bay and thought I'd try it. It didn't say what size or anything else about it but that it was an estate sale. I found one on the internet and if this one doesn't float my boat I'll let it go and try the other one. I do know the first one in this thread shave great. This one is a C V Heljestrand.Name: s-l64.jpg

As most folks know I have all ways talked about the 6/8 or larger heavy blades giving a better shave for me than the very small blades. I haven't recieved the square point yet but if it does as well as the round point at the beginning of this thread I will be very happy. I have used it almost every day since i recieved it and it gives a very good close comfortable shave. Just goes to show you that you really never know until you try .

The square point 23 came today. It shows little to no use. Very clean and 11/16 width. can't wait to hone and us. I hope if i find another one 5/8 or larger i can latch on to it.
