It's a tad under 7/8, so I'm probably looking at around 13/16 by the time I get that small chip in the middle out.
Started my weekend a little early and made a little road trip to meet someone who was selling a box of sharpening stones for really cheap, I mean Cha-eeep.
Made a stop on the way at my favorite hardwood dealer. They stock tons of different woods, including exotics.

What I like is they have a "shorts" bin and also they are willing to cut 1 board foot off any piece 8 foot long and over.

I ended up with a piece of lacewood, a piece of marblewood, and a couple 2x2x12 pieces of wenge that they had on the counter in the office. Nice folks there! Gonna make some scales and perhaps a couple brushes.

Then I went to pick up the stones. I wasn't sure what was in the box exactly but I did see a couple pictures beforehand, but nothing close up. I was happy to find a coticule in there and a couple others that look very promising. Looking forward to cleaning them up and seeing what I have.

A pretty good day!
That's saa weet Tuzi
Awesome score! What're the dimensions of the coticule and that mounted one? Always intrigues when someone thakes the time to do that...
The long stone on the left looks promising.
I plan on doing this little trick with a Wenge brush in the future. If you ever want to try something cool with yours, give it a try.

Cool beans tuzi great start to a weekend!
Nice stones, and cool vid on bleaching Andrew.
I'm hoping that one in the box cleans up to be a charnley forest for you G.
A beautiful slow finisher. The one I have is packaged such that I'm hopeful for you buddy..
As a rule of thumb I have found they tended to box up the nicer stones back in the day. Hell, some of us still do.
;)
